About

Ten years ago, I started working in clinical research. Despite two Bachelor of Science degrees, I often felt like an imposter. Someone was trusting me to come up with things like validation assays for diseases with unmet needs.

Four years of my tenure was spent manipulating cancer patient's blood and tumor cells to create an immunotherapy vaccine that would get injected back into the patient. I even had to obtain FBI clearance to use a gamma ray, pretty cool stuff!

My entire career was spent looking for answers to unsolved problems. Some may have found it tedious or frustrating. I found it fascinating. This isn't a love letter to my past life in science, but more a plug for my insatiable curiousity. So how did I get here?

A global pandemic will really get you thinking, shocking I know. I found myself transitioning to more remote work and naturally began dabbling for outlets that shined a light in such a dark time. I've always paid attention to new tech and internet happenings. In particular, websites that not only look beautiful, but have interesting and impeccable functionality.

What if I could learn to make the things that bring me so much joy?

I started learning, talking to friends in tech and signed up for some Pro web development courses. Slowly but surely, I began making things. I can't wait to keep learning and improving my skillset over time and consistent practice. The present and future have so much potential!
